Channel Identification is used to identify a specific channel on the map. To identify a channel, click on the Channel Identification button, then click on the channel you want to identify. Information about the channel will appear in the Results area.

If you receive an error message stating, "The Active Layer Conveyances is not visible due to scale and features cannot be selected.", the map is currently not displaying the channel layer. To identify a channel in this case, use the Zoom In tool until the channel appears on the map.

If the Channel button does not appear in the Identification area, the channel layer is not currently being displayed. To display the channel layer, change the View to allow more layers to display.
