Identification

The Identification area in the Flood Zone Application allows you to select the Active Layer. This area is used when you want to identify a particular feature on the map, such as a parcel, floodzone, LOMR, basin, etc.

Identifying a feature is as simple as:

  1. Manipulating the map until you see the feature (or, alternately, using a Query to display the feature you want information about)
  2. Clicking the identification button for the feature you want to identify
  3. Moving the mouse cursor over the feature and clicking the left mouse button
You can also select multiple features (except in the case of City identification) by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse across the map, creating a box on the screen, then releasing the left mouse button when you have selected all of the features you want to identify.

To view information about identifying a particular feature, select the feature on the left.
